Remote area power stations (RAPS) are used by off grid businesses and communities.
RAPS are largely diesel fueled and a major contributor to carbon emissions and are costly to operate because the diesel fuel is transported into these remote locations.
The operating cost of diesel fueled systems is high, at approximately $500/MWh. The negative impact on the environment is high, as diesel fueled generators affect the surrounding air quality.
RAPS fueled by hydrogen, derived from renewable energy, are a cost-effective alternative with virtually zero carbon footprint.
